Coronavirus (COVID-19)

March 15th, 2020 | Posted by fcav in News Updates - (Comments Off on Coronavirus (COVID-19))

We observed the statement issued by Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua on March 13 implementing precautionary measures against COVID-19 to close all community centres and other City of Vaughan facilities.

We asked the City of Vaughan if Patricia Kemp Community Centre (PKCC) is included in the closure. The reply was “this facility is independently run therefore it would not be restrictive to closing.” In addition, we were advised to check the York Region health website and take all precautionary measures like wash hands, use hand sanitizers, be vigilant and ensure there is no crowd over 250 in attendance.

After careful consideration, the Board of Directors decided to close PKCC effective Monday, March 16, 2020 at 9 a.m. until Monday, April 6, 2020 at 9 a.m. This is to ensure that we are aligned with the City of Vaughan’s implementation of precautionary measures to ensure our users and the community at large stay protected.
