Mindanao is the theme of Vaughan Fiesta Extravaganza (VFE) 2019. It is the second largest island in the Philippines. Majority of Filipino Muslims live in Mindanao. There are 13 non-Muslim indigenous groups in Mindanao, one of them is the “Manobo” tribe from Agusan province. Agusan is the hometown of Joey Abrellina, one of the producers and organizers of VFE 2019. Von, Gizele and Joey in colourful Manobo attire.Volunteers at Vaughan Fiesta Extravaganza 2019 Gate

The biggest Filipino-Canadian summer event yet in the City of Vaughan, dubbed as “Vaughan FIESTA EXTRAVAGANZA 2019” will be held at Dufferin Clark District Park Grounds on July 20 and 21, 2019, Saturday and Sunday.

“Vaughan Fiesta Extravaganza 2019” is a summer event that celebrates Filipino Heritage in Ontario and across Canada that will promote multicultural awareness and appreciation of Philippine heritage. This is one way of recognizing the achievements of the Filipino Community that has contributed to the social and economic fabric of Canada. It should be noted that the City of Vaughan is a sister city of Baguio, Philippines and home to more than 13,000 hard-working Filipinos and a growing Filipino community.

The main highlights of the festival are: Non-Stop Entertainment and Musical Extravaganza, Food Expo, Filipino Heritage Exhibits, Cultural Dance Presentation, Bumper2Bumper Auto Show, featured TFC Kapamilya Stars and celebrity guests and more.

We are bringing together Filipino entrepreneurs, artists and cultural groups from Canada and will showcase Philippines’ best in mainstream venue in the City of Vaughan. Part of the proceeds will help to renovate Patricia Kemp Community Centre, the home of the Filipino-Canadian Association of Vaughan (FCAV).
